This was the initial trial of two new audio devices, both Olympus DR2100's. These are not dictaphones but high definition microphones, engineered for clarity in dictation. For the test, I directly recorded in parallel onto two laptops both running the same version of Audacity ( Toshiba U300 and L300 ). I also recorded the experiment with an Olympus VN2100, which was then transferred to both laptops after the session ended. All recordings ran for just over 30 minutes. All four files were then filtered and cleaned.

No discernable voices were captured on the DR2100 recordings, however, the VN2100 recording that had been transferred to both laptops, proved to be exceptional for results. I do not use any form of background noise in recordings, but I suspect the field generated by the DR2100s has proven to be a beneficial source of energy for vocal modulation. I will be duplicting this arrangement for further testing.

Clip 1. The first voice sounds male; this was captured shortly before I made an observation regarding the visible frequency variation on Audacity. Aside from the filtering residue, the fluidity of language expressed does not flow naturally.

Clip 2. Again the voices I hear are of two men in conversation. Despite sounding to be speakers of modern English, the choice of wording is more akin to an older form of our language. My assumption is that I was under observation, and they were aware their vocal projection was able to be captured.

Clip 3. The transmission and content of EVP messages, does not mirror our fluency of use with language. Hearing fragmented sentences, from speakers whose varying intonation and speed, which may be slower or considerably faster than we are used to hearing, makes understanding some recordings a challenge. In addition, many strings of voices may speak on disjointed topics, adding more confusion to our comprehension. I have attempted a translation of the voices in this clip, but I am not confident that it is correct.

Clip 4. Ambiguity may exist in many clips but not in this one. Though why a young man would wish to admit his crime, to an older woman who then excuses his actions, is somewhat puzzling. The clarity of speech is stunning, but the motivation for sharing this is unknown. Was there a conscious awareness that I could hear them, and a way for the speaker to unburden himself?

Clip 5. I was momentarily concerned that I may have recorded a contemporary conversation when I heard this clip. Once before I heard an equally disturbing plot regarding a well known gang; only when I researched their intended target, did I discover the conversation alluded to a crime that happened in the 1950s. I sincerely hope that this clip too, belongs in the past. I have no wish to use my ability to capture EVP for criminal investigations.

Whilst I appreciate that it would be understandable for you to discount these voices as being genuine EVP, I assure you that I have undertaken a great deal of research and continue to record regularly, which is necessary to achieve this level of communication. I do not profit in any way from what I do, and have no intention to waste my time in deceiving either myself or you. If you would like to witness capture of the voices, you are invited to take part in a recording.
